Incorporating your spirituality into your treatment

For some people, spirituality is an important part of their lives and a source of strength / support when they make changes. You are absolutely welcome to bring your spirituality into your treatment and I will work with you to incorporate it into our work.

Approaches for spiritual integration in therapy

  • Identifying spiritual practice for mindfulness - Mindfulness is a commonly taught therapy skill and can be combined with your spiritual practice.

  • Value Exploration - Sometimes reflection on personal values helps people stay grounded in changing their behaviors and reactions.

  • Spiritual books or materials - There may be materials that resonate with your spirituality that can support your therapy work.

  • Spiritual support and study groups - Some people find it helpful to join a group for support and accountability during the change process.

  • Couple Therapy - Some couples integrate their spiritual practices and values into their couple work to support marital change.
